Vivian Yang (pronounced "young") is a novelist, TV commentator, and public speaker. She is a top winner in the June 2007 WNYC-New York Public Radio Leonard
Lopate Essay Contest. Her winning entry is an adapted excerpt from her second novel in English, SHANGHAI QUARTER-BLOOD, about
a mixed-race beauty wading through the 1970s and 1980s’ Shanghai during its Communist heyday and beyond. A native of
Shanghai, China where she taught English and journalism in her undergraduate alma mater before getting an M.A. degree in the
U.S., she lives in New York.
